Give It 2 Me

(Verse One)
My name is DNA, nice to meet ya - I'll tell ya bout myself, born and raised in New Brunswick, I never had the wealth/ Tried to sneak through school, but never had the stealth, hip-hop's the butter, I'm the heat that's gonna make it melt/ Every mistake I dealt came back to haunt me, lettin' out frustration with Bic pens and Sharpies/ Generally not cocky when I step in the room, never carry weapons 'cause cemetaries never get full/ I was born on Easter Sunday, 11am - my fam was at church when my aunt brought my moms in/ Came out wit a pad and pen in my grip, the neverendin' descendant of independance, every sentence is sick/ Sometimes, I think I'll never get rich...and unbeatable opponent is a nemesis, bitch/
Oh, you know it, I'm a poet with a generous gift, watch the pendulum spin - you know not what this robot spits/ An android wit a Fischer Price toy in his fist, open fire on you til you're char-broiled to bits/ I'm not an animal, I live inside a bottomless pit, a shrunken stomach's what I got 'cause food's not on the list/ I wanna capture love, bottle it in - cuz I personify the better way to rhyme in every song that I'm in

(((HOOK/CHORUS)))
Now, it seems to me
like everybody wanna party when they need to be, less easily,
influenced by what they be doin on the TeeeVa screen
you wanna give a head a credit, better give it to me
Just give it to me
I said, give it to me
You better give it, gimmie, give it, gimmie, give it to me
I said, give it to me
Bitch, give it to me
You better give it to me, gi-gi-give it to me

*This song is actually about how people lie about nonsensical shit that doesn't matter, and how these types of people need to quit making excuses in life when it affects others' lives, because it always does. By me saying "Give it to me", I'm essentially addressing these types of people with nothing short of a commanding order to surrender their claim to responsibility, whatever it may be, and hand all of it over to a "higher power" to be taken care of for REAL. Like "If you ain't man enough to handle the important issues in your life, hand em over to someone who will do it and do it RIGHT. It might sound like it, but this is not a religious song in any way. I'm not a biblical emcee.
